I never understood why we let Clint go - maybe others know of a reason. But even more so, why didn't we offer Paul Hart the manager's job, especially in preference to George Burley! On the video he says Palace was the job of which he has the happiest memories, he admired the team and the fans, and he did a great job keeping us up despite the 10 point penalty. But at least we had a chance to give him a rousing ovation when he came out on to the pitch before our match against Nottm. Forest the following season. Good man.

I think the future of the club was still uncertain so obviously players had to think of their futures, no-one begrudged those that left because they gave us their all to keep us in the division. Clint was probably the last player that I was really gutted about leaving, I loved the bloke. As it happened he made a good decision, he won promotion with Warnock and QPR the next season
